    Aspen Technology, the market leader in software solutions for the design, operation and maintenance of the process industries, is seeking an outstanding technically oriented marketer to work as a Product Marketing Specialist for the Engineering, Chemicals business. This global position has a primary responsibility to assist in developing and implementing the “go-to-market” campaign strategy, packaging, positioning, messaging, and the commercial success of our solutions serving the Engineering Chemicals vertical segment.

     

    The Product Marketing Specialist collaborates closely with globally distributed cross-functional teams in Field Marketing, Sales, Product Management and other internal and external functions to drive adoption of AspenTech’s ENG applications.  The right candidate will be a quick learner and able to absorb industry and product knowledge rapidly to make immediate contributions to the organization. 

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in developing global marketing product campaigns and drive the development and execution of strategy and tactics for each of the defined market segments.
    • Sales enablement – communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and develop the sales tools that support the selling process of your products
    • Demand generation – develop the strategy and own product marketing campaigns that drive demand and adoption of your products
    • Product launch – plan the launch of new products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan
    • Content development – create and publish content for product collateral, video, web, and social media programs
    • Market intelligence – learn the challenges our customers face and how AspenTech solutions solve these problems, be the expert on your buyers; be the expert on your competition and how to win against them
    • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates your applications in the market
    • Work with target customers to build customer success cases on a global and continual basis
    • Contribute to content and programmatic training efforts enabling Sales and Business Consultant staff
    • Identify Best Practices in the Engineering area through market research and interaction with customers
    • Become a global spokesperson and evangelist for AspenTech’s Engineering solutions, specifically those applications associated with the chemicals market. (marketing and industry events; externally with customers and internally across organizations)

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline, MBA a plus.
    • 3-5 years’ experience of demonstrated marketing success in the Energy, Chemicals or related process industry segments (sales or business development experience a plus)
    • Introductory experience in product marketing, including experience with marketing campaigns, for companies manufacturing or supplying the bulk or specialty chemicals marketplace
    • Self-directed, highly motivated, detail-oriented, charismatic, personable
    • Excellent presentation, communication and analytical skills
    • Demonstrated ability to understand and convey complex information in a clear and concise manner
    • Location: Boston, Mass or Houston, Texas.  Limited travel associated with this position
