    Reporting to the Global Public Relations Director at AspenTech headquarters in Bedford, MA, this role will be responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of a comprehensive PR program in EMEA. Main areas of focus are currently Germany, the Middle East, Russia and UK.

    This a highly visible role that bridges marketing and sales by communicating AspenTech’s value to industry via regional PR and social media channels.

    The role holder will work closely with the Global PR Director (Bedford, MA) and North American (Bedford, MA) and Asia Pacific (Singapore) PR leads to ensure a coordinated global PR effort and support team as needed.

    The Senior Marketing Communication Manager, will also collaborate closely with the wider Marketing function as well as Sales leadership in EMEA – e.g. creating content and providing PR support to the Field Marketing, Sales and Social Media teams.


    • Effectively communicate AspenTech’s business and technology story and ensuring that AspenTech’s EMEA communication and messaging aligns with corporate and regional priorities
    • Gain recognition of AspenTech as the solution provider of choice and industry thought leader through favourable media coverage and PR, leading AspenTech’s EMEA PR strategy, campaigns and activities, including press releases, media outreach and customer reference program
    • Monitor industry trends affecting AspenTech customers and business in EMEA and making recommendations on how to leverage these trends for AspenTech’s benefit
    • Manage media briefings with executives and subject matter experts, including preparation for the briefings and follow up
    • Drive earned media in target media channels, including business, technology and vertical media, and developing a pipeline of news and storylines for these target media, thereby strengthening AspenTech’s reputation as a dependable resource for target media
    • Cultivate new media channels, contacts and outlets (with a focus on business and national media) and collaborate with and manage external EMEA PR agency network (currently Germany, the Middle East, Russia and UK) to include: securing media placements, profiling stories, preparing partners for interviews and providing guidance on publication opportunities
    • Work with senior leaders to identify and nurture customer references and driving the use of customer references in EMEA PR activities
    • Lead media relations activities before, during and after key events
    • Further raise the firm’s visibility in key industry groups regionally by working closely with local Business Development and Marketing teams


    The successful candidate must be fluent in written and spoken English, have proven PR experience either in-house or agency side and be able to write clearly and convincingly about the business value of complex B2B software solutions. The successful candidate must have agency management experience or have worked at a senior level on the agency side. In addition:

    • Proven ability to craft clear, compelling stories and synthesize complex technical product information
    • Thorough understanding of the business, technology and vertical media 
    • Effective written and verbal communicator with internal and external audiences and stakeholders, including C-level audiences
    • Self-starter who will initiate and engage various teams to develop positioning and messaging
    • Exemplary written and verbal skills, including expertise writing press releases, media and analyst briefs, blogs and social media
    • Must thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
    • Demonstrated experience in PR and/or media relations; preferably within a software or high-tech organization or managing clients for a B2B PR agency
    • Experience in executing multi-region media relations, PR campaigns and projects for a US-based company
