Aspen Technology is currently seeking to hire a Principal Programmer Analyst who brings not only a solid track record of development using Microsoft .NET Technologies but also has a deep interest in working with other technology platforms like Salesforce, Sitecore CMS and SharePoint Online. 


The Principal programmer analyst works as a team member along with other developers, Systems Analysts, Business team members and Project Managers to deliver complete solutions for the customer.


  • Ability to design, build and deploy complex, full stack .NET applications in both private datacenters and Azure cloud
  • Expected to take on the most difficult design and coding problems, delivering solutions that are in alignment with business and technical/architectural goals
  • Participate and lead daily stand up meetings, document changes and co-ordinate development efforts
  • Manage multiple projects/priorities
  • Co-team with the Partners, Vendors, and Analyst teams to produce technical specifications for custom development and systems integrations.
  • Produce detailed technical design documents to match the solution design specifications
  • Utilize and champion development best practices and approaches
  • Gather, analyze and document technical requirements for new projects, enhancements to existing solutions and production issues reported by end users
  • Help research and troubleshoot production issues, resolve user problems and escalate when necessary
  • Create and execute unit, integration and user acceptance test plans, including use cases and test data
  • Support change control best practices, including management of multiple code/configuration streams, code/Configuration merging, and promoting changes to production


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science
  • 8+ years programming experience
    • 5+ years working with core .NET development environment
    • 3+ years working in designing software systems 
  • Technical skills expectation:
    • C#, .NET MVC, LINQ, Web API, jQuery, CSS, PowerShell
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of technology standards, concepts and practices
  • Excellent problem-solving, strong analytical and investigative skills
  • Salesforce Apex development experience a big plus
  • Experience working with Azure cloud services, SharePoint, Sitecore CMS, LMS tools a plus
  • Professional certifications a plus
