Overview

Technical presales consulting to convince clients to invest in the world leading aspenONE Process Engineering suite of products.  Work closely with Sales to identify and develop pipelines for future sales; grow the existing Usage and Product Adoption by engineers.  Lead consultative discussion with customers ranging from senior-managers to users, highlight the best practices in the industry, understand their needs and present an integrated engineering work flow that eases customers’ pain point.  Be an expert in Process Engineering technologies spanning several industries such as E&C, Refining and Petrochemicals/Chemicals.

Responsibilities

  • Support sales team to develop sales opportunities and pipelines in accordance to sales and proposal process.
  • Develop strong relationships and trust with varied levels of customers’ contacts, from engineers to senior managers, learning their business drivers and issues.
  • Use strong technical knowledge, product line or vertical industry (E&C, Petrochemical/ Chemical, Refining) to devise a solution best available to satisfy customers' needs.
  • Be familiar with related technologies and tools to be able to develop/ show demo, Pilots, and/or Scoping/Benefit studies.
  • Be prepared to learn new areas of technology quickly
  • Respond to customers' technical inquiries/questions/requests to evolve them into sales pipelines.
  • Plan, prepare, and conduct technical presentations/workshops/seminars for products and solution areas to educate clients on our product capabilities, with the objective to advance the pipeline.
  • Prepare/coordinate remote presentations for the customers via Webex in the qualifying stages or when site visits are not suitable.
  • Manage the preparation of the solution proposal, technical and commercial responses to RFP and bid estimation. Work diligently with cross-functional teams to get the bid approved, adhering strictly to AspenTech's bid process.
  • Support Sales Account Managers to close sales opportunities by firming-up the technical scope and getting customer's technical buy-in.
  • Be a proactive team member and a team player encouraging team learning and information sharing.
  • Keep abreast of domain technology and industry knowledge.
  • Report to BC Team Lead and/or Business Consulting Director on day to day activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering is necessary with at least 12-15 years of relevant experience in the E&C, Refinery and Petrochemical/Chemical industry.
  • Master or PhD is an added advantage.
  • Good domain experience in E&C, Refining & Chemical plant operations and processes, with familiarity of one or more AspenTech Engineering tools:
    • Aspen Plus (Highly desired)
    • HYSYS/RefSYS (Highly desired)
    • Economic Evaluation
    • Aspen Capital Cost Estimator
    • Aspen Basic Engineering
    • Equipment Design & Rating
    • Any other equivalent competitors' tools with preference to the Aspen Plus/HYSYS and Cost Estimation areas.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skill in English & local language.
  • Must possess a strong passion for cutting-edge technologies, with the aptitude and desire to learn new skills.
  • A team player with the ability to relate to customers and maintain good working relationship.
  • Able to multi-tasking effectively and efficiently in a matrix environment.
  • Able to commute regularly for domestic or overseas business travel (beyond 50%).
