We are looking for an industry marketing professional with strong experience in the Chemicals market.  This senior role will be part of an industry strategy and marketing team charged with being a trusted advisor to the company and to our customers. The role has the following major functions:

  • Design and execute compelling industry marketing campaigns
  • Support engagement with strategic customers
  • Build AspenTech’s reputation and grow core competencies in the Chemicals industry
  • Refine AspenTech’s industry strategy for the Chemicals market
  • Influence product strategy based on the needs of the industry and influence product roadmap

  • Design and execute compelling industry marketing campaigns
    • Define business objectives and scope for industry-relevant campaigns
    • Create thought-provoking and insightful marketing messaging for customer decision-makers
    • Collaborate with marketing, product and field organizations to build tactical plan
    • Measure and track campaign effectiveness to continuously improve tactics
  • Support engagement with strategic customers
    • Establish relationships and regularly meet with key executives at strategic accounts
    • Provide industry messaging training for the field account teams. Work closely with field teams and customers to collect feedback
    • Communicate perspectives on process workflow improvement and best practices to customers
  • Build AspenTech’s understanding, core competencies and reputation in the Chemicals market
    • Develop efficient cross-functional team collaboration processes to socialize, evangelize and gain feedback on the industry perspective
    • Establish a close working relationship with field teams and with customers
    • Work with customers to understand their business challenges, workflow pain points. Identify value –adding best practices both current and future.
  • Communicate AspenTech’s Chemicals value proposition and strategy to customers
  • Establish AspenTech visibility as a thought-leader at industry events/venues
  • Develop repository of industry knowledge to support organization industry competency development
  • Refine AspenTech’s industry strategy for the Chemicals market
    • Refresh, collaborating with key stakeholders, and drive consensus on AspenTech’s Chemicals industry strategy
    • Understand market trends and customer business challenges across the industry and connect to AspenTech market opportunities
    • Understand key customer business process and process maturity across the industry and how AspenTech can impact
    • Assess current “whole” product strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats
    • Define key product needs of the industry and influence overall AspenTech product roadmap
    • Be the company trusted advisor for AspenTech’s approach for the Chemicals market



  • At least 10 years of related experience
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree.
  • Understanding of Chemicals business
  • Strategic-thinker who enjoys building collaborative teams to solve complex problems
  • Skilled at conveying complex information in a clear and concise manner verbally and in written word
  • Strong communicator experienced in building relationships with customers, partners, sales channels and analysts
  • Action-oriented with skills to drive challenging projects to successful conclusion
  • Proven ability to establish new ways of working and drive continuous improvement
  • Strong experience in developing skills of extended organization 
  • Experience with value-based selling to support business process improvement desirable
