  • Overview

    Responsible for all areas of US employee benefits including Health and Welfare and 401(k) Retirement Plan. With continuous improvement in mind, the Benefits Analyst will help the Benefits Team take the next step in automating, simplifying, and streamlining both our internal processes as well as the processes that touch our customers – AspenTech employees.


    • Research, analyze, evaluate, and administer corporate benefit plans and programs helping to eliminate risk and identify changes that will deliver competitive benefits at the best value
    • Monitor benefit trends in the business environment staying abreast of applicable benefits legislation
    • Lead the Open Enrollment process including working with AspenTech’s consultant on plan renewals, system updates required for plan and contribution changes, integrity of data feeds and carrier coordination
    • Ensure that all US Benefit policies, procedures and plan documentation are current and compliant
    • Oversee 401(k) Retirement Plan and enrollment administration ensuring fiduciary compliance; oversee annual plan audit
    • Develop and update employee communications materials, plan summaries, summary plan descriptions, brochures, and memos
    • Partner with outsourced Call Center to analyze and report on Customer interactions identifying opportunities to strengthen resources and knowledge base in order to deliver outstanding customer service to our employees
    • Consult with employees on questions pertaining to eligibility, plan provisions, claims and other benefit related information
    • Oversee preparation of Form 5500, Summary Annual Reports, and other federal and state annual compliance filings
    • Conduct data audits between HR, Vendors and Payroll regularly to ensure data integrity
    • Other projects as requested


    • Bachelors degree
    • 2-5 years of benefit plan administration experience
    • International experience is a plus
    • Demonstrated project and program management skills along with attention to detail and accuracy
    • Strong planning, initiative, and resourcefulness with ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and quickly adapt to changes in direction
    • Experience with web based enrollment and vendor and payroll integration with benefits system
    • Excellent listening, analytical & complex problem solving skills
    • Strong communication and customer service skills are required
    • Flexible and proactive problem solver adept at achieving results in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
    • Excel and PowerPoint should be a strength;  Access is a plus
    • Exceptional analytical abilities, accuracy, and attention to detail are required
    • Strong Project Management skills, ability to prioritize and produce results are critical for success in this role
